FAQ

How can I keep prevent a drain from getting clogged?

Generally, the best thing you can do is keep a close eye on what goes into the drain. Grease, hair, and food—among other things—can eventually build in the drain and create a clog, so keep these from going down your drain as much as possible. Installing a drain catcher can go a long way to helping with this, as they’ll prevent large items from going into your drain.

I’m worried about my septic system. When should I schedule an inspection?

If you suspect that something is amiss with your system, then it’s generally a good idea to schedule an inspection to see what’s going on. In addition, you’ll want to schedule regular inspections every three to four years to try and catch minor problems before they become too big.

Can I fix my toilet tank myself using a repair kit?

Yes, but the fix will likely only be temporary. The epoxy found in these kits can seal the crack, but because of changing water temperatures, this won’t last forever; the fluctuation of temperatures will cause the crack to expand, eventually putting you back to square one. If you notice cracks, then it’s generally better to just replace the tank entirely.

What can cause a faucet leak?

The most common cause is generally just time. With constant use, the faucet will sustain extensive wear and tear, and even the best faucets will eventually spring a leak. Generally speaking, the best thing you can do to prevent leaky faucets is to buy a higher quality one at the time of replacement; that way, you can worry less about problems in the future.

Why is my water pressure so low?

There are a wide range of potential reasons. Sometimes, it can be because of a damaged pipe; other times, a valve might be partially closed. Because there are so many potential options, it’s generally best to get in contact with a professional to find out more.
